GOVERNANCE · 2 MIN READ

Governance begins with a named owner.

Make decisions traceable before you add more process.

CatProof editorial · October 28, 2026

Someone needs to own the decision

An agent can have a technical platform owner and a separate accountable business owner. Record both roles with their meaning intact rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Keep decisions attached to context

A review is easier to understand when the purpose, source identities, and previous decisions are visible together. A change should lead to a clear question about what needs to be reviewed.

Distinguish records from enforcement

Recording a suspended lifecycle does not stop an agent in its source platform. Governance records and runtime controls are different capabilities. Be precise about which action the system actually performs.
